Sooners Picked Fifth in SEC Preseason Coaches Poll

NORMAN – The Southeastern Conference announced its preseason coaches poll on Thursday, with the Sooners projected to finish fifth in the league.
Oklahoma begins the season at No. 21 in the ITA preseason rankings after completing the 2024-25 season with 17 total wins and seven conference victories.
Texas leads the pack at the top of the poll with Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Kentucky rounding out the top five.
The Sooners begin the spring season on Friday, January 16, against No. 11 Arizona at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
In fall competition, Oklahoma swept the ITA Central Regional Championship with two Sooners meeting in the singles championship match and a pair of Sooners claiming the doubles title.
Sophomore Oscar Lacides returned to the NCAA Individual Championships for the second year in a row after qualifying in singles. Senior Luis Alvarez also qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships singles bracket after advancing to the championship match at the regional tournament.
Freshman Johan Rodriguez arrived in Norman just in time to compete in the regional competition alongside sophomore Orel Kimhi. The pair advanced to the doubles championship match and claimed the title to advance to the NCAA Individual Championships.
