NORMAN — The Oklahoma track and field team is set to host the 24th annual JD Martin Invitational Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Mosier Indoor Track & Field Facility.
Originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23, the meet has been moved a day earlier due to inclement weather forecasted for Friday and Saturday.
The meet will kick off with field events at 10:30 a.m. CT, and running events will follow at 1 p.m., with an estimated finish at 6 p.m. Doors open at 10 a.m., and admission is free for all spectators.
LAST TIME OUT
The Sooners look to build off an exceptional first meet of 2026 last weekend in Norman, highlighted by two record-breaking performances at the Owen Hewett Invitational. Junior
Kennedy Stringfellow took the nation's lead in the long jump with his school-record leap of 8.29m (27'2.50"), earning USTFCCCA Men's Athlete of the Week and SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors. Redshirt-junior
Kennedy Clarke set a school record in the weight throw with her toss of 21.34 (70'0.25").
RUN IT BACK
The Sooners enter their second season in the SEC, a league known for track and field dominance. Oklahoma made a standout first impression during its inaugural season, including eight individual conference titles and a fourth-place finish from the women's team at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championship. At NCAA Outdoors a season ago, the men brought home a sixth-place finish, good for the best outdoor nationals finish for an OU team in 28 years.
