OU Hosts Owen Hewett Invitational

January 15, 2026 | Track and Field

NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field team is set to host the Owen Hewett Invitational Friday at the Mosier Indoor Track & Field Facility for the first meet of 2026.

The meet, with free admission for all spectators, kicks off with the open section at 10 a.m. CT, beginning with field events, followed by running events 30 minutes later. The invitational section, featuring all OU student-athletes, is set for 2:30 p.m. (field events) and 3:30 p.m. (track events).

LAST TIME OUT
Oklahoma saw success in its season-opening meet in December, claiming 12 event titles, 36 personal-bests and ten marks or times in OU top-ten history.

BACK AND BETTER
The Sooners return three of four national champions from the 2025 season, including Agur Dwol (EVENT), BJ Green (EVENT) and Ralford Mullings (EVENT).

2025 NCAA Outdoors triple jump national champion, Green, is set to make his season debut Friday, competing at 4 p.m. in the invite section of men's triple jump.

RUN IT BACK
The Sooners enter their second season in the SEC, a league known for track and field dominance. Oklahoma made a standout first impression during its inaugural season, including eight individual conference titles and a fourth-place finish from the women's team at the 2025 SEC Indoor Championship. At NCAA Outdoors a season ago, the men brought home a sixth-place finish, good for the best outdoor nationals finish for an OU team in 28 years.
