AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 4/12 Oklahoma track and field team closed out day one of the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays Thursday night at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Amid relentless rainfall and a two-hour weather delay, the Sooners claimed two event titles and secured five top-10 performances in OU history.

Women's hammer throw duo of Kassidy Gallagher and Kennedy Clarke opened the meet with fourth and fifth place finishes in the event. Gallagher recorded a 62.76m (205'11.00") toss and Clarke 62.76m (205'11.00").

Kassidy Sani took the Sooners' first event title of the meet in the women's javelin (Section B), measuring in at 45.68m (149'10.00").

Abby Jepchirchir debuted outdoors for Oklahoma in the women's 800-meter run. She clocked 2:05.70, the third-fastest time in OU history, for fourth place. Her mark also ranks 10th in the NCAA and second in the SEC so far this outdoor season.

Oklahoma's distance group remained determined, grabbing excellent finishes in both the men's and women's 5,000-meter races. Leah Jeruto clocked a career-best 16:00.19, narrowly missing the school record by half a second, for the No. 2 spot on OU's all-time performance list. Gabi Barrera also grabbed a personal record, registering 16:36.89 for 10th place and the No. 9 position in Oklahoma history.

Evans Biwott and Ronald Ngetich made their outdoor debut and took a 1-2 finish on the men's side. Both with career-bests, Biwott recorded 12:50.42 and Ngetich 13:50.57. With these times, Biwott climbed to No. 5 in OU history and Ngetich No. 6. The duo also rank first and second in the SEC so far this outdoor season. Finishing closely in fifth, Thobias Cheruiyot registered 13:58.42 for the No.4-spot in the SEC.
