NORMAN – Two Sooners from the Oklahoma men's tennis team are prepped to head to Ann Arbor, Mich. to compete in the ITA Central Sectional Championships.
Senior Bruno Nhavene and junior Asahi Harazaki will each compete in the singles main draw beginning on Thursday.
The first-round draws are set with Nhavene set to face Texas's Jonah Braswell and Harazaki slated to play against Ohio State's Alex Okonkwo.
Match times have not been set but can be located on the tournament page along with the draws.
Fans can follow the tournament through live stream.
The ITA Central Sectional Championships are the last of three qualifying tournaments for the NCAA Individual Championships, slated to take place Nov. 18-23. Currently, Oklahoma has qualified two singles positions in sophomore Oscar Lacides and senior Luis Alvarez along with one doubles position in freshman Johan Rodriguez and sophomore Orel Kimhi. All three qualified positions for the Sooner came from the ITA Central Regional Championship.
At last year's ITA Central Sectional Championships, Alvarez walked away with the singles consolation title.
Both Nhavene and Harazaki competed at last year's ITA Central Sectional Championship, each falling out of the main draw early on.
