Barber Named SEC Golfer of the Week
October 16, 2025 | Women's Golf
NORMAN – Oklahoma senior Savannah Barber was named SEC Golfer of the Week after a standout performance at the Dale McNamara Invitational, the league announced this week.
Barber birdied the final hole of the 54-hole event to secure her first career win at a full-length tournament. She posted rounds of 68, 66 and 68 to hold off Arkansas' Maria Jose Marin at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa. The Fort Worth, Texas, native's 202 (-11) was the lowest 54-hole score by a medalist in program history and helped lead Oklahoma to a runner-up finish.
The honor is Barber's first and makes her the second Sooner to earn a league award this season after Meg Tilma was named SEC Freshman of the Week earlier in the fall.
The Sooners return to action Oct. 19-20 at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos, Texas. OU finished third at last year's tournament behind top-10 finishes from Reagan Chaney and Gracie Mayo.
