Route 66 Invitational Honored Dale McNamara
Oct. 13-14 / 54 Holes / Tulsa, Okla. / Cedar Ridge Country Club

NORMAN — Oklahoma women's golf heads east this week for the Route 66 Invitational in Tulsa, honoring Dale McNamara, a trailblazer for women's golf in the state of Oklahoma.

The two-day, 54-hole event tees off Monday at 8:30 a.m. CT with 36 holes, followed by Tuesday's final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT. Team and individual champions will be crowned at the conclusion.

The 14-team field includes No. 8 Arkansas and a pair of programs receiving votes in the latest WGCA poll, including the Sooners, who are on the cusp of breaking into the top 25.

In their most recent outing, the Sooners finished sixth at the shortened, 36-hole OU Intercollegiate at Prairie Dunes, led by top-five performances from Savannah Barber and Reagan Chaney. Barber fired rounds of 75 and 69 to notch her fourth career top-five finish, while Chaney posted her second straight top-five showing with scores of 71 and 73. Oklahoma closed with a 294 in the final round — the fifth-best team score of the day — but saw its streak of seven consecutive top-five regular-season finishes come to an end.

At Cedar Ridge, Oklahoma's lineup features Barber and Chaney in the top two spots following their standout performances at Prairie Dunes. Gracie Mayo slots in at No. 3, Isabelle Schlick holds down the fourth bag and Meg Tilma rounds out the lineup at No. 5. Competing as individuals, Santokan (Earn) Thiengsri and Raychel Nelke will look to contend for the individual title.
