Sooners Ranked No. 4/No. 9 in USTFCCCA Week One Standings

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams rank top-ten nationally in USTFCCCA's first NCAA DI Track & Field Rating Index after two impressive weekends at home and on the road. The men come in at No. 4 in the nation while the women rank No. 9. The men's No. 4 ranking is the program's best since 2008 and the women's No. 9 standing is the highest since 2011.
The OU men's team is ranked top three in four events and leads the nation in the long jump (7.59m (24'11") average) and triple jump (15.18m (49'9.50")). The men rank second in the high jump (2.13m (6'11.75")) and third in the shot put (18.54m (60'10.00")).
The Sooner women are ranked second in the nation in the long jump (6.25m (200'6.25")), triple jump (13.23m (43'5.00")) and shot put (15.58m (51'1.50")).
At the season-opening Owen Hewett Invitational (Jan. 17) in Norman, BJ Green registered a personal best and NCAA-leading 16.75m (54'11.50") and Agur Dwol posted a PB of 13.48m (44'2.75") for fourth in the nation, both in the triple jump. Kyren Washington cleared 2.22m (7'3.25") in the high jump and Nikaoli Williams recorded 7.93m (26'0.25") in the long jump, both ranking second in the NCAA. Jasmine Akins broke the school long jump record with a 6.47m (21'2.75") leap for the eighth-best mark in the nation.
At their first away meet in Lubbock, Texas, at the Red Raider Invitational on Jan. 24, Ralford Mullings threw a personal-best 19.68m (64'7.00") and Paige Low recorded a career-record 18.05m (59'7.25"), both ranking No. 3 in the nation in the shot put. Olivia Lueking added a school record in the pole vault (4.46m (7'.50") for the fourth-best mark in the NCAA.
Through two meets, the team has collected 18 marks in the top-16 of the NCAA and 21 top-10 performances in OU history, including two school records.

The No.4/No. 9 ranked Sooners host the 23rd annual JD Martin Invitational on Friday, Jan. 31 at the Mosier Indoor Facility for the second and final home meet of the indoor season. The invite section beings at 3:30 p.m. CT where a majority of OU athletes will compete. Admission is free.
