Women’s Tennis Claims ITA All-Academic Team Award, Six Individuals Honored

NORMAN – Six Sooners have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes and OU has been named an ITA All-Academic Team for the 14th year, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Monday.
Ava Catanzarite, Samantha Fulnecky, Roisin Gilheany, Zdena Safarova, Alina Shcherbinina and Emma Staker all earned Scholar-Athlete status for maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the 2023-24 academic year.
Catanzarite and Gilheany boasted 4.0 GPA's. The accolade is Staker's third and the first for the remaining athletes.
With a 3.43 cumulative GPA, the Sooners were named an ITA Academic Team. OU has earned the team honor every year since 2011 and in 25 of the last 26 seasons.
