Men's Tennis to Host NCAA Regionals

NORMAN – Oklahoma begins the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships on its home courts as the No. 11-seed Sooners host the first and second rounds at the Headington Family Tennis Center beginning Friday, May 3.

The Sooners will open the tournament with UT Arlington, while SMU and Stanford will square off in the other first round match. The winners of the first-round matchups meet Saturday, May 4, with the winner advancing to super regional competition the following weekend.

"We're really excited to host this year's regional championship," head coach Nick Crowell said. "We have four good teams in our region which is exciting. It's going to be a great weekend of tennis and our guys are ready. They've been playing great tennis all spring and have worked really hard for this opportunity to host here in Norman and we're ready to get to work."

Daily general admission tickets are $5 and will go on sale Tuesday, April 30, at 10 a.m. CT. Groups of 10 or more may also purchase $3 tickets in advance. For tickets, call the OU Athletics Ticket Office at 1-800-456-GoOU or purchase online at SoonerSports.com.

Oklahoma finished the 2024 regular season with 20 wins for the first time since 2018, achieving a season-high ranking of No. 9 and finishing in second in the Big 12 regular season.

The Sooners are making their 14th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and seventh under Crowell. OU has advanced to the second round or further in each of the last ten seasons and is hosting for the first time since 2018. The Sooners are led by No.10 Alex Martinez who is 18-4 on the season with an 11-match win streak.
