Duo in Top 10, Sooners T7th After 36 Holes at Big 12 Championship

HOCKLEY, Texas – Junior Reagan Chaney fired a team-best 2-under 69, and Oklahoma women's golf moved up three spots at the Big 12 Championship, tying for seventh (20-over, 588) after the first 36 holes at Houston Oaks.

Chaney is in sixth (even, 142) and carded a 1-over 73 in the first round on Thursday. The Ardmore, Okla., product opened the second round with a birdie on No. 10 and dropped strokes on the 11th and 12th holes. Chaney moved to 2-over after her third and final bogey on the 15th hole. She wrapped up the back nine with a birdie on the 18th hole, finishing 1-over 37. Chaney responded on the front nine, firing a 3-under 32 with back-to-back birdies on the fourth and fifth holes.

Sophomore Savannah Barber tied for seventh (1-over, 143) and carded rounds of 72-71. Barber started the second round with two birdies in her first three holes before a bogey on the 13th. She tallied back-to-back birdies on the 16 and 17th and finished the back nine 1-over 35 after a double bogey on the 18th. Barber moved back to even after a bogey on the second hole and responded with consecutive birdies on the fourth and fifth, sitting at 2-under with four holes remaining. The Fort Worth, Texas, product tallied a double bogey on the seventh and concluded her round with two pars.

Sophomore Isabelle Schlick tallied an even par 71 and tied for 35th (7-over, 149). Schlick fired an even 36 on the back nine, recording her lone birdie on the 12th. The Bad Homburg, Germany product opened the front nine with a double bogey. Schlick tallied a birdie on the fourth hole before a bogey on the sixth moved her back to 2-over. She wrapped up the front nine with back-to-back birdies on the eighth and ninth holes.

Freshman Holly McLean enters the final round tied for 49th (12-over, 154). McLean has carded rounds of 78-76. Sophomore Gracie Mayo tied for 63rd (20-over, 162). Mayo shot 7-over 78 in the second round.
