Boston – Three Sooners from the women's squad represented the Oklahoma track and field team on day one of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet was held Friday at the TRACK at new balance in Boston.
Combined events team of
Angel Richmore and
Pippi Lotta Enok recorded top-nine finishes in the pentathlon for All-America honors.
Olivia Lueking finished fifth in the pole vault to earn a first-team All-America award for the third consecutive season.
"Our women did an incredible job today. This is the momentum we want to build heading into day two," said head coach James Thomas. "Angel will forever be remembered as my first All-American as an OU head coach. Olivia has battled all season and it was great to watch her get another top-five finish in a highly competitive pole vault competition."
Enok and Richmore opened the day for the Sooners in the pentathlon's 60-meter hurdles. Enok clocked 8.59 for 997 points and ninth overall and Richmore registered 8.77 for 959 points and 11th overall.
Next, Richmore grabbed a 1.75 (5-8.75) mark and Enok earned a 1.69 (5-6.50) score in the high jump. Richmore stood in ninth place with 1,875 points and Enok totaled 1,839 points for 14th at the conclusion of the event.

"Angel kept battling after the first two events and never gave up," stated assistant coach for combined events, Jerel Langley. "To start slightly off then finish with two personal bests shows how much she's grown mentally."
"While not Pippi's best day, there's always going to be a light at the end of the tunnel," added Langley. "We will regroup and keep working to accomplish our goals during outdoor season."
Richmore earned first-team All-America honors and Enok gained a second-team All-America award.
Junior
Olivia Lueking concluded the day with fifth-place in the pole vault, registering 4.40 (14-5.25) for first-team All-America honors.
"I am very proud of Olivia. This was an incredibly tough vault competition and as usual, she put herself in position early to claim another All-American award," Langley continued.
Under Langley's guidance, Enok, Lueking and Richmore account for the all of the points scored for the Sooners on day one.
Head Coach James Thomas praised Langley, "He has done a fantastic job with our combined events and vaulters. Having three top-nine finishers in the nation is no easy feat."
