NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma track and field team concludes their regular season Friday at the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark.
Field events are set to begin at 12:30 p.m. CT and running events will start at 2 p.m. CT. Fourteen Sooners will compete at the meet.
"This weekend is typically known as the 'last chance' weekend, serving as the last chance for tuning up or qualifying before the Big 12 Championships and NCAA Championships," stated head coach James Thomas. "We're taking a small group of Sooners to Arkansas, each with specific competition objectives. I'm thrilled to see their growth and development and share their excitement to get out there and compete again."
The Sooners traveled to Chicago last weekend for the Windy City Invite where they earned five titles and 10 new personal bests.
Junior
Olivia Lueking dominated the field with first place in the women's pole vault invitational with a season-best 4.44 (14-6.75) mark. Lueking advanced to No. 3 in the NCAA and is 0.01 meters away from cruising past her personal best and her own school indoor record.
Eight Sooners, including Lueking, currently sit in the top-16 nationally in their respective events.
