Women's Tennis Reveals 2025 Spring Schedule

NORMAN – University of Oklahoma head women's tennis coach Audra Cohen announced the Sooners' 2025 spring schedule Thursday.
OU's challenging schedule includes 12 matchups with teams that made the 2024 NCAA Tournament and will see the Sooners host nine matches at the newly renovated Headington Family Tennis Center.
"This is the most exciting season for us because we get to play a full SEC schedule against the nation's best opponents," said Cohen. "We will be tested in every match, and we couldn't be more excited for that challenge."
The Sooners will open the season on the road with the Miami Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla., from Jan. 10-12.
For the second consecutive season, OU debuts at home with a doubleheader against Wichita State and Wyoming (Jan. 17).
Oklahoma will travel to Berkeley, Calif., for the ITA Kickoff Weekend and face San Diego State on Jan. 24, while California and Grand Canyon square off on the other side of the bracket. The winners of each match will face off on Jan. 25 in hopes for a punched ticket to the ITA National Indoor Championships hosted by Illinois and Northwestern on Feb. 7-11.
The team will return home before making a short trip to Tulsa to take on the Golden Hurricane on Feb. 4 or Feb. 8.
Cohen's squad begins its inaugural SEC campaign at Arkansas on Feb. 22. Oklahoma continues back-to-back weekends on the road at Texas (Feb. 28) and Texas A&M (March 2) before welcoming Vanderbilt to the Headington Family Tennis Center March 7.
OU remains at home for competitions against Missouri (March 9), Kentucky (March 14) and Tennessee (March 16).
Conference play continues with a trio of away matches at South Carolina (March 21), Georgia (March 23) and Auburn (March 28).
A quick turnaround awaits the Sooners with a home contest vs. Florida (March 30) before the team closes their road slate against Ole Miss (April 4) and LSU (April 6).
Oklahoma will wrap up the regular season in Norman with Mississippi State (April 11) and Alabama (April 13).
The 2025 SEC Women's Tennis Championships will be held at Auburn, April 16-20.
NCAA Regionals are set for May 3-4, with the winners advancing to Super Regionals May 10-11. Regionals and Super Regionals will take place at campus sites. Team Championships will be hosted by Baylor and held May 15-18 in Waco, Texas.
The Sooners are coming off a 2024 season that saw them earn their 15th NCAA tournament appearance and fifth under Cohen. OU returns six players from that squad including All-Big 12 honorees Julia Garcia Ruiz, Roisin Gilheany, Chloé Noël, Ava Catanzarite and Emma Staker along with Alina Shcherbinina. Cohen and the Sooners welcomed freshmen Emma Ghirardato, Cara Mester, Gloriana Nahum and Salakthip Ounmuang to the squad for the 2024 fall season.
