Sooners to Compete for NCAA Tournament Qualifying Spots in Fort Worth

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's tennis team is headed to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the ITA Central Sectional from November 7-10.

The competition is the final qualifying tournament for the NCAA Individual Championships later this month. Three Sooners will play for qualifying positions, including sophomore Asahi Harazaki and juniors Luis Alvarez and Bruno Nhavene. Nhavene is already qualified in the doubles draw but will play for a singles qualifying spot.

Alvarez fell just short of qualifying for the NCAA Individual Championships, making it to the semifinals of the ITA Regional Championships..

Along with Nhavene, two other Sooners have qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships in freshman Lacides and senior Jordan Hasson. Lacides will compete in doubles with Nhavene as well as the singles draw, while Hasson qualified in singles.

The NCAA Individual Championships will be hosted by Baylor from November 19-24.
