October 15, 2024 | Men's Tennis
NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's tennis team is set to travel to Tulsa to compete at the ITA Regional Championship from Oct. 16-20.
All eight Sooners will be playing in the tournament, which has two singles and one doubles qualifying position available for the NCAA Individual Championships in November.
The Sooners kick off play on Thursday in the main draw with freshmen Vojtech Petr and Oscar Lacides each taking first serves at 10 a.m., followed by sophomore Hank Trondson playing at 11:30 a.m. and senior Jordan Hasson starting at noon.
Sophomore Asahi Harazaki and junior Bruno Nhavene both play at 12:30 p.m. and sophomore Kholo Montsi starts his match at 1:30 p.m. Junior Luis Alvarez has a first-round bye and advances to the round of 32, scheduled to begin on Friday.
The ITA Regional Championship is the second qualifying tournament of the fall season, following the earlier ITA All-American Championships in September.
Last year, the Sooners picked up 11 total wins at the tournament and saw two players through to the round of 32 and one through to the round of 16.
