NORMAN – University of Oklahoma head women's tennis coach Audra Cohen announced the Sooners' 2023 fall schedule Friday.

Oklahoma is slated to compete in 12 tournaments over the course of the fall, with different student-athletes participating in varying tournaments around the country.

"We are really excited to kick off the year with a challenging fall schedule," Cohen said. "Our team will get the opportunity to play pro tournaments as well as the premier collegiate events. This is an incredibly hard-working team that's ready for battle."

A group of Sooners will begin the season in Cary, N.C., for the NC State Ranked Spotlight on Sept. 21-24, while others will travel to Milwaukee, Wis., for the Milwaukee Classic from Sept. 22-25.

Kicking off the month of October, the Sooners will split between the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C., (Sept. 30-Oct. 8) and the ITF 25K in Redding, Calif. (Oct. 2-8). October will feature eight of the Sooners' 12 competition dates.

From Oct. 9-15, the team will split up coast to coast with athletes competing at the ITF 60K in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and the ITF 25K in Florence, S.C. OU will also send athletes to the ITA Central Regionals Oct. 12-16 in Lawrence, Kan.

Rounding out the month of October is the ITF 80K in Macon, Ga. (Oct. 16-22) and the ITF 80K in Tyler, Texas (Oct. 23-29).

The Sooners make their lone home appearance at the ITF 15K Norman Open from Oct. 30-Nov. 5, which runs concurrently with the ITA Fall Nationals in San Diego, Calif. (Nov. 1-5).

OU concludes its fall schedule with the Big 12 Individual Championships in Waco, Texas, from Nov. 10-12.

Cohen's team returns four players from the 2022-2023 season: senior Dana Guzman, junior Emma Staker and sophomores Julia Garcia Ruiz and Romana Cisovska. Senior Florencia Urrutia (Santa Fe, Argentina), juniors Ava Catanzarite (Pittsburgh, Penn.) and Alina Shcherbinina (Moscow, Russia) and freshman Zdena Safarova (Czech Republic) are new to the squad.
