Women's Golf Preview: NCAA Athens Regional

NORMAN - Oklahoma senior women's golfer Mikhaela FortunaĀ will compete as an individual at the 2023 NCAA Athens Regional May 8-10 at UGA Golf Course in Athens, Ga.Ā 

FortunaĀ is paired with Tulane's Carla Bernet and Penn State's Mathilde Delavallade and the trio open the 54-hole tournament on Monday at 8:53 a.m. CT.

Fortuna secured a career-best finish in her last event, tying for third at the Big 12 Championship. She was one of four golfers to finish under par and fired a 1-under 215.Ā 

Fortuna will need to be the low individual not among the top-five teams to advanceĀ to the NCAA Championship at Grayhawk GolfĀ Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Stroke play will be heldĀ May 19-22.
