NORMAN — No. 1 Oklahoma took game one of its three-game conference series vs. Texas Tech Thursday evening by a final score of 3-0.

The Sooners (34-1, 7-0) were powered by a complete-game shutout from super senior Alex Storako (W, 12-0), tossing a three-hitter with four strikeouts and one walk.

Fellow redshirt senior Haley Lee highlighted the offense with her ninth home run of the season, good for a tie of the team lead. Junior Alyssa Brito plated OU's other two runs on a two-RBI double in the fourth.

After Storako retired the side at the top of the first before Lee launched her 56th career blast on a deep shot to left field in the bottom half of the inning.

A scoreless second and third inning ensued before OU was able to push a pair across in the fourth. Following walks to Lee and freshman Jocelyn Erickson, Brito laced a double off the wall in right center to score two.

Storako retired nine of the last 13 Tech batters through the final three innings with help from OU's nation-leading defense. A diving catch in right field from frosh Avery Hodge in the fifth highlighted the defensive gems and a slick play at first from Cydney Sanders in the sixth to strand a pair helped keep Tech (28-13, 2-5) off the board.

Storako's shutout was her fourth individual shutout of the season and the OU pitching staff's nation-best 20th of 2023.

OU saw six Tech pitchers on the night, with Brito's pair of RBIs pacing OU while Lee went 1-for-2 with a walk and a homer. OU tied an opponent in hits for just the second time this season, with the Sooners and Red Raiders each registering three base knocks a piece.

The teams turn around for game two of the three-game set on Friday at 6 p.m. CT. The game can be seen via SoonerVision on ESPN+ and heard on 107.7 The Franchise and nationwide on The Varsity Network app.
