OU Picks Up Seven All-Big 12 Honors

NORMAN - The Sooners claimed seven All-Big 12 honors, the conference announced Friday. Carmen Corley, Ivana Corley, Julia Garcia Ruiz, Dana Guzman, Alexandra Pisareva and Layne Sleeth all earned league accolades.

The Corley sisters, from Albuquerque, N.M., are currently ranked No. 7 in doubles. The duo was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and shared the No. 1 doubles position champions title after going 19-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play at the top court.

Guzman and Sleeth were named First Team in singles after having stellar performances in Big 12 action. Guzman finished the season undefeated between court two and three and Sleeth notched a 6-1 record at the top spot.

Carmen Corley claimed the Second Team honor with a 6-2 conference record and clinching five ranked wins switching between court two and three. The No. 58 pair of Pisareva and Sleeth were named Second Team in doubles with a 4-2 Big 12 season all at court two.

Going undefeated in conference play, Garcia Ruiz notched a 7-0 record flipping between the No. 5 and 6 position to earn a spot on the All-Freshman Team.

OU awaits its NCAA tournament destination, announced on Monday, May 1.
