Montsi, Martinez Claim All-Big 12 Honors

NORMAN — Two Sooners have earned two All-Big 12 accolades, the conference announced on Friday.

Siphos Montsi went 3-2 in conference play at the No. 3 spot to share the position title. The newcomer from Laurel Springs, East London, South Africa, claimed wins over Oklahoma State, Baylor and Texas Tech, as well as notching three ranked wins.

Alex Martinez was named to the singles second team after going 2-2 in Big 12 action at the top court. From Spain, the senior clinched the Sooners' first win against Baylor since 2018 and helped OU's monumental win over Oklahoma State after defeating No. 89 Tyler Zink 7-6 (11), 5-7, 1-0 [10-3]

The Sooners await NCAA selection on Monday, May 1.
