NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma track and field team wrapped up competition at the John Jacobs Invitational, Saturday evening. Ā Ā
On Friday, the Sooners kicked off competition with field events. Senior Diego Trevino collected a massive personal-best in the men's shot put with a launch of 65-04 (19.91m). His performance places him first in the Big 12 and second in the Oklahoma record books. Ā
Next, Kassidy Gallagher cleared 205-07 (62.67m) in the women's hammer throw for first place. She was followed by Geraldine Udo with a personal best throw of 197-04 (60.15m). On the men's side, Ben Ryer threw for 198-01 (60.38m) and claimed fifth place. Ā
In the women's long jump, Jada Williams took ninth place with a clearance of 17-07 (5.36m), while Cam Peters cleared 21-04.25 (6.51m) for fifth place for the men. Ā
To conclude Friday's action, Payden Montana snagged first place in women's shot put with a throw of 57-05 (17.50m), while Abby Moore (16.51m) and Paige Low (16.02m) finished second and third, respectively. Ā
Saturday's competition started with Kassidy Sani launching for 139-08 (42.59m) in javelin throw to win first place. She was followed by Ariel Pedigo (39.15m), Kayla Kurtz (39.08m), and Amiyah Norwood (36.68m), in second, third, and fourth, respectively. Ā
Next, Olivia Lueking cleared 14-00.5 (4.28m) in women's pole vault to take first place, while Cassidy Bradshaw (4.18m) and Tessani Foster (3.52m) finished in second and fourth place, respectively. Ā
In the women's 1,500m run, Grace Williamson clocked a 4:50.45 and finished inĀ fifth place. On the men's side, Jordan Gledhill crossed the finish line at 3:59.69 for second place. Ā
The Sooners success continued with David Warmington clocking a personal best time of 14.11 in the 110-meter hurdles for first place.Ā
Then, in the 400-meter race, Richard Kuykendoll finished first with a time of 46.29. On the women's side, Ashonti Warner crossed the finish line at 55.08 for theĀ victory. Ā
In women's discus throw, Paige Low snagged second place with a personal-best throw of 175-09 (53.58m), while Payden Montana (50.61m) and Kassidy Sani (48.94m) finished third and sixth, respectively. Ā
The women's 100-meter dash saw Kennedy Blackmon clock a timeĀ of 11.40 for first place. She was followed by Mikayla Hayes (11.62) in second, Eva Kubickova (11.71) in third. On the men's side, Carter Cukerstein ran a personal-best time of 10.54 for third place. Ā
Next, Jayden Louis-Charles cleared 46-07.25 (14.20m) in the men's triple jump won took first place.Ā
To close out the meet, Jada Atkinson clocked a 25.09 in the women's 200-meter dash for first place. On the men's A'lajuwan Robinson crossed the finish line at 21.55 for third place. Ā
