Corky/Crofoot Shootout Results

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma track and field team concluded their time at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout in Lubbock, Texas, Saturday evening.

On Friday, men's and women's discus throw was the sole event that kicked off the meet. In Section A for the women's discus throw, Paige Low finished second with a throw of 178-6 (54.40m), while Kassidy Sani (47.39m) and Payden Montana (45.96m) finished sixth and seventh, respectively.

On the west coast, Yazmine Wright competed at the Oregon State High Performance Meet and clocked a 4:15.61 in the 1,500-meter run to win first place and take down a school record that has stood since 1982.

Saturday's action began with Ben Ryer launching for 191-10 (58.48m) in the men's hammer throw for a sixth-place finish. On the women's side, Kassidy Gallagher cleared 208-10 (63.66m) for first place.

Next, the 3,000-meter steeplechase saw Gabi Barrera finish with a time of 11:40.63.

The action on the track began with Danielle Rinn crossing the finish line at 4:37.52 in the women's 1,500-meter for first place.

Men's javelin throw saw Daniel Doheny clear 188-9 (57.54m) for fourth place, while Kristo Simulask threw for a personal best 169-10 (51.78m) for fifth. On the women's side, Kassidy Sani took the victory with a launch of 148-2 (45.17m).

Back on the track, Pippi Lotta Enok (13.75) and Ariel Pedigo (14.45) both ran personal best times in the 100-meter hurdles for fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The men's 400-meter race was won by Zarik Brown who clocked a personal best time of 45.38 to secure the victory for the Sooners.

In the women's 100-meter dash, Kennedy Blackmon ran a personal best time of 11.06 for first place and claimed the new school record. On the men's side, both Josh Bour (10.18) and Carter Cukerstein (10.33) ran personal best times for sixth and 10th place, respectively.

Sierra Williams (2:09.20) and Jordyn Kaplan (2:15.49) ran in the women's 800-meter race and finished second and third, respectively.

Next, senior Vernon Turner cleared 7-2.5 (2.20m) in men's high jump to take the victory.

The Sooners' success continued with Diego Trevino throwing for 64-9.25 (19.74m) in men's shot put to finish in first place. Freshman Tucker Smith followed in second place with 61-0 (18.59m). On the women's side of the event, Abby Moore cleared 56-10 (17.32m) for second place and Payden Montana followed in third with 54-10 (16.71m).

In the women's 200-meter dash, Blackmon clocked a personal-best time of 22.56 for second place, while Mikayla Hayes (23.62) and Eva Kubickova (23.87) finished fourth and eleventh, respectively.

Senior Daneesha Davidson won first place and set a new school record in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a speedy time of 56.69.

Nikaoli Williams leapt to first place in the men's long jump at 25-10 (7.87m), while Donovyn Fowler jumped for a personal best 24-5 (7.44m) to snag second place. On the women's side, Pippi Lotta Enok cleared a personal-best 20-11.75 (6.39m) for the victory.

Men's triple jump saw Brandon Green Jr. (15.83m) and Kunle Akinlosotu (49-6.5) place fourth and fifth, respectively. On the women's side, Davidson jumped 43-5.25 (13.24m) for fourth and Agur Dwol cleared 42-2.75 (12.87m) for fifth.

To close out the meet, sophomore Olivia Lueking broke her own pole vault school record with a massive clearance of 14-9 (4.50m).

For their last outdoor regular season meet, the Sooners will head to the Arkansas Twilight in Fayetteville, Ark., on May 5.
