NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma track and field team is hosting the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman, April 21-22.Ā Ā 

Action kicks off on Friday with field events at 5 p.m.Ā CT.Ā On Saturday, field events start at 10Ā a.m. CT, while running events begin at 12:30 p.m. CT. The senior recognition ceremony will begin at 2:15 p.m. CT.Ā

SOONER INVITATIONAL REWINDĀ 

Last weekend, the Sooners collected 10 first place finishes and a broken school record. Ā 

On Friday, newcomer Kassidy Gallagher won the women's hammer throw with a personal best throw of 212-01 (64.65m), which is good for the fourth best in program history.Ā 

Women's long jump saw Jasmine Akins (6.43m) collect second place, Nebtom N'da (6.17m) had a personal best for sixth place, and Agur Dwol cleared 5.91m for eighth.Ā 

In the women's 5k, Yazmine Wright clocked a 16:10.43 for first place and the fourth fastest time in OU history.Ā 

Next, Diego Trevino tied his outdoor career-best of 63-01.5 (19.24m) in the men's shot put for first place, while Tucker Smith cleared 61-03.5 (18.68m) for second place.Ā 

Saturday kicked off with Pippi Lotta Enok winning the women's heptathlon and shattering a 40-year-old school record with 5,782 points.Ā 

Kassidy Sani won the women's javelin throw with a launch of 145-05 (44.34m).Ā 

Ashonti Warner won the women's 400-meter with a time of 53.54. On the men's side, Mattar ran a personal-best time of 45.81 to also win first place.Ā 

Yazmine Wright took home her second win of the weekend with a time of 2:08.31 in the women's 800-meter run.Ā  Ā 

Next, Daneesha Davidson won the women's 400-meter hurdles with a speedy time of 58.71, while Jenna James clocked a personal best time of 59.27 for second.Ā Ā 

In the women's 200-meter, Mikayla Hayes claimed a personal best time of 23.67 for fourth place. Eva Kubickova (24.11) finished sixth and Jada Atkinson (24.40) ran for eighth. On the men's side of the 200-meter, Josh Bour took home a victory with a time of 20.61.Ā 

The women's 3k steeplechase saw sophomore Grace Williamson claim fifth place with a time of 12:18.24.Ā Ā 

Kunle Akinlosotu cleared 50-00.75 (15.26m) in the men's triple jump for second place and Brandon Green Jr. Jumped for 49-09.75 (15.18m) for third.Ā Ā 

To close out the meet, Olivia Lueking cleared 13-11.25 in the women's pole vault for first place.Ā
