Sooners Take On Baylor In Opening Round

NORMAN - The No. 4-seed Oklahoma men's tennis team is prepped to take on No. 5-seed Baylor in the opening round of the Big 12 Championships in Lawrence, Kan., on April 21.

Friday's match against the Bears is slated for 9 a.m. CT, with fans able to follow along through live stats and live stream.

The Sooners (13-10) and Bears (17-14) played on April 14 in Norman, with OU claiming its first win over Baylor since 2018 with a 6-1 victory.

IN THE RANKINGS

Oklahoma is highlighted in the singles rankings by No. 94 Alex Martinez and No. 111 Siphos Montsi.

Baylor have two in singles poll: No. 62 Tadeas Paroulek and No. 82 Jake Finn. In doubles, they're represented by No. 16 Zsombor Velcz and Paroulek and No. 30 Finn and Juan Pablo.

The winner of Fridays match will face top-seeded Texas in the semifinal round at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 22.
