Women's Golf Preview: Florida State Match Up

NORMAN - Oklahoma women's golf continues its spring slate in Tallahassee, Fla., at the Florida State Match Up March 17-19

The three-day, 54-hole event features Augusta, Coastal Carolina, Daytona State College (NJCAA), East Tennessee State, Florida State, Kentucky, Kent State, Mercer, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Purdue and Tulane.

OU's lineup features Kaylee Vesely, Nina Lang, Mikhaela Fortuna, Raychel Nelke and Savannah Barber.. Vesely, Lang, Fortuna and Nelke are making their second appearances in the OU lineup this spring. Barber, who competed as an individual in the spring opener, is back in the lineup. Emily Hun will compete as an individual.

At the Westbrook Invitational, the Sooners tied for sixth after a tournament-best 13-under 275 in the final round. Vesely and Lang tied for 11th. Vesely and Nelke each fired a team-best 4-under 68 to concluded the tournament and Lang tallied a 3-under 69.

Kaylee Vesely, Jr., Austin, Texas: Competed as an individual at the 2022 Schooner Fall Classic and the Jim West Challenge … Appeared in the OU lineup at the Illini Invitational and finished 4-over 220 ... Tied for 27th (71-72-67) and finished with a 3-under 67 to conclude the tournament … Tied for 11th at the Westbrook Invitational and fired a 3-under 213 ... Competed as an individual four times during the 2021-22 slate … Made lone appearance in the 2021-22 OU lineup at the Clover Cup (T81) last season.

Nina Lang, Jr., Ingolstadt, Germany: Opened the fall slate in the lineup at the Carmel Cup ... Appeared as an individual at the Schooner Fall Classic ... Tied for 11th at the Jim West Challenge and finished with a 2-under 214 ...  Tied for 11th at the Westbrook Invitational and fired a 3-under 213 ... Competed in five events (one individual) during the 2021-22 slate … Made first appearance in the Crimson and Cream at the Schooner Fall Classic as an individual and finished T27 (6-over, 216) … Appeared in the OU lineup for the first time at the Illini Invitational (8-over 224) ... Finished her first year in the Crimson and Cream with a 74.87 stroke average.

Mikhaela Fortuna, Sr., Manila, Philippines:  Opened the season in the lineup at the Carmel Cup and tied for 29th ... Led the Sooners at the Schooner Fall Classic and tied for 10th … Fired a season-low 4-under 66 to open the Schooner … Led the Sooners with a 2-under 214 at the Illini Invitational ... Competed as an individual at the Westbrook Invitational and finished 19th with a 1-under 215 ... Ranked No. 79 by the American Junior Golf Association ... Tallied five top 10 finishes in AJGA play ... Runner-up finish at the 2021 AJGA Shreveport Junior Tournament ... Teamed up to win the 6th U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship ... Emily Hun, Fr., Macau, China: Made her first appearance in the OU lineup at the Westbrook Invitational  ... FORMAT

Fifty-four holes will be played over three days. The first round will be held on Friday, March 17 and the tournament will conclude on Sunday, March 19. Each round is slated to start at 7:30 a.m. (CT).
