Oklahoma Set for Two Top-20 Duals in the Dakotas

The Oklahoma Sooners head to the Dakotas for a pair of top-20 matchups vs. No. 15 North Dakota State and No. 16 South Dakota State this weekend.

The NDSU dual will begin at 7 p.m. CT Friday, as the showdown with the Jackrabbits starts at 1 p.m. CT Sunday. Friday night's matchup will be streamed on NDSU All-Access, and Sunday's dual vs. South Dakota State will be available on Flo.

LAST TIME OUT

The Sooners (8-6, 1-4 Big 12) concluded their home slate with a 24-10 victory over Rider on Senior Day at McCasland Field House. The win over Rider snapped OU's three-dual losing streak after the Sooners dropped their dual vs. No. 8 Missouri in Norman two days prior.

No. 7 Mosha Schwartz attained his third consecutive top-15 win at 141 pounds with a 6-1 decision victory over then-No. 7 Allan Hart of Missouri.

In their final bouts at McCasland, seniors Carson Berryhill and Jacob Butler were both victorious in their matches vs. Rider, with Berryhill edging Asa Terrell 6-4 at 197 pounds and Butler cruising past Colton Washleski 6-1 to win the 157-pound bout.

Oklahoma will start the weekend off against No. 15 North Dakota State, who enters the battle on a six-dual winning streak. The Bison's ranking of 15^th is the highest in program history, with six of their grapplers ranked by Flo and Intermat. No. 2 Jared Franek leads NDSU (10-2, 5-1 Big 12) with a 17-1 record, his only loss coming to No. 4 Peyton Robb (Nebraska).

No. 16 South Dakota State returns to the mat after an untouched 10-0 run in January. The Jackrabbits (11-2, 5-0 Big 12) have eight wrestlers in the top 25 of their respective classes, leading to a top-10 matchup at 141 pounds where No. 7 Schwartz is slated to face No. 10 Clay Carlson. Historically, OU leads the series 5-3 over SDSU.
