Track & Field Announces 2023-24 Indoor Schedule

NORMAN – New University of Oklahoma head track and field/cross country coach James Thomas announced the Sooners' 2023-24 indoor track and field schedule Friday.
This year's indoor schedule includes one home meet, six away meets, the Big 12 Championship and the NCAA Championships.
"The 2023-24 indoor schedule is both challenging and exciting from start to finish," said Coach Thomas. "We are extremely fortunate to be regionally located among some of the best competitions the sport has to offer."
Five Sooners are set to travel to the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Dec. 2 in Boston for OU's first meet of the season.
The following weekend, the full team will compete at home on Dec. 9 at the J.D. Martin Invitational. The Sooners return to action after a month-long break when they travel to the Texas A&M Opener in College Station, Texas, on Jan. 12-13.
The team follows with five straight meets on the road, starting with a visit to Lubbock, Texas, for the Texas Tech Corky Classic on Jan. 20. Next are trips to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Razorback Invitational Jan. 26-27, College Station, Texas, for the Texas A&M Aggie Invitational on Feb. 3, Chicago for the Windy City Classic Feb. 9-10 and Fayetteville again for the Arkansas Last Chance meet Feb. 16.
The Big 12 Championship is set to follow Feb. 22-24, hosted by Texas Tech. The Sooners return two league champions this season: Pippi Lotta Enok won the pentathlon and Nikaoli Williams took first place in the long jump.
Individuals who qualify will travel to the NCAA Indoor Championships held in Boston, from Feb. 7-9. Six NCAA indoor qualifiers from last year's squad are set to return for the Sooners in 2024.
