Guzman, Shcherbinina Set for ITA Fall Nationals

NORMAN – Dana Guzman and Alina Shcherbinina are set to compete at the ITA Fall Nationals, Nov. 1-5, in San Diego, Calif., at the Barnes Tennis Center. 2023 marks the second-straight season at least one Sooner will appear at the championship after Julia Garcia Ruiz competed in 2022.

The Championships are the grand finale to the fall collegiate tennis season and feature 64 of the nation's top collegiate singles players (32 men and 32 women) and 64 doubles teams (32 men's team and 32 women's teams). The event is in its seventh year, having replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships beginning in 2017.

Guzman and Shcherbinina secured their spot in the doubles draw after winning both the ITA All-American Championship and the ITA Central Regional Championship. The pair have won 15-straight doubles matches this fall.

Guzman also received an at-large bid to the singles draw of the championship after an impressive fall that saw her reach the semifinals at the ITA Central Regional and the round of 16 at the ITA All-American Championships.

Players will play one round of singles and one round of doubles each day, with a complete back draw also being played out for players or teams that lose on the opening day of play.
