Sooners Ready for ITA Central Regional Championship

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team will travel to Lawrence, Kan., for the ITA Central Regional Championship, October 12-16.
Doubles and singles winners of the four-day tournament, along with other finalists, will qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships Nov. 2-5.
Eight Sooners will represent Oklahoma at the event in both the singles and doubles draws.
The Sooners are coming off an impressive showing at the ITA All-American Championship which saw Dana Guzman and Alina Shcherbinina claim the doubles title. The duo will pair up again for the regional doubles draw.
At the 2022 Central Regional Championship, Julia Garcia Ruiz claimed a runner-up finish in singles and advanced to the fall nationals. Asa team, the Sooners claimed 19 wins overall in 2022.
