Sooners Split Time To Open Fall Play

NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's tennis team will open the fall slate splitting time between the Battle of the Bay and the Commodore Invitational, beginning Thursday, Sept. 22.

The Sooners will kick off competition in San Francisco, Calif., for the Battle of the Bay from Sept. 22-25. Joining in on Friday, selected athletes will travel to Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn., for the Commodore Invitational on Sept. 23-25.

No. 51-doubles duo Alex Martinez and Nathan Han will represent OU in San Francisco beginning Thursday in the singles and doubles bracket. The four-day event will be hosted by the University of San Francisco.

The pair will hit the doubles court at 11 a.m. CT on Thursday to open the round of 16, with singles action starting right after. Martinez will play at 2:30 p.m. CT, while Han joins the singles bracket at 4 p.m. CT in the round of 32.

Friday will open competition for the Sooners at Vanderbilt. Baptiste Anselmo, Jip Van Assendelft, No. 92 Mark Mandlik and Justin Schlageter will represent OU in the Commodore Invitational.

No live stats will be available for the Commodore Invitational, results from the tournament will be available on SoonerSports.com following the conclusion of the event.
