NORMAN - A pair of Oklahoma women's tennis player are set to open the 2022 fall slate at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic in Milwaukee, Wis., Sept. 16-18.
Sophomore Emma Staker and junior Dana Guzman will represent OU in the singles and doubles bracket.
The No. 4-seeded duo will open the tournament in the doubles round of 16, beginning at 8 a.m. CT on Friday, as they take on Indiana's Schneider/Staiculescu.
Over in the singles bracket, Guzman is scheduled to face Bojana Pozder of Notre Dame at 9 a.m. CT on Friday in the round of 32. Following the conclusion of opening matches, No. 8-seeded Staker will take the court against Marquette's Emma Kojcic.
The Sooners have a history of success at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic as former Sooners, Oleksandra Korashvili and Jasmine Asghar took home the doubles title in 2019.
The three-day tournament will feature a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles bracket, with dozens of Division 1 opponents awaiting the Sooners.
