Cohen, Corley Earn National Honors

NORMAN – Oklahoma women's tennis picked up the program's first two national individual awards as head coach Audra Cohen was named the 2022 ITA National Coach of the Year and senior Ivana Corley earned the National Arthur Ashe Leadership Award, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Monday morning. 
 
Cohen earned the program's first national coaching honor after leading the Sooners to the most successful season in program history. She earned the honor by recording a 32-3 record, going undefeated at home and in conference play, claiming the Big 12 Regular Season title and sending OU to their first ever National Championship appearance. Cohen also led the Sooners to their first program ITA National Indoors appearance, where they reached the finals. OU then went on a 16-match winning streak and tallied the program's highest ITA and USTA ranking at No. 2 and ended the season with two singles players, and one doubles pair qualifying for the NCAA Individual Championships.
 
Corley earned the program's first National Arthur Ashe Leadership Award. She ended her season with a 13-10 singles record, 25-6 doubles record in dual matches for the 2021-22 season and collected numerous honors along the way. Corley was named to the All-Tournament doubles team and tabbed Most Outstanding Player at the ITA National Indoor Championship, was named Big 12 Player of the Week, claimed All-Big 12 First Team in doubles and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team in doubles. Off the court, Corley served as president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, was an active member of the Black Tennis Student-Athlete Alliance, organized multiple events on campus and participated in multiple community service opportunities.
