Corley, Sleeth Advance to Round of 32

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 10 Layne Sleeth and No. 53 Carmen Corley advanced to the round of 32 of the NCAA Singles Championships in Champaign, Ill., Monday night.
Sleeth dominated her first set 6-1 over No. 33 Daevenia Achong of Miami. She finished the job with a 6-1, 6-2 victory to advance to the round of 32. Sleeth will face California's No. 62 Haley Giavara tomorrow.
Corley took set one 6-4 against Arkansas' No. 61 Tatum Rice, ultimately claiming the court 6-4, 6-2 to earn a spot in the next round. She will compete tomorrow with No. 44 Natasha Subhash of Virginia.
The Sooners will return to action tomorrow, May 24, for the round of 32. The time will be announced at a later time.
