OU T&F Heads To Last Regular Season Meet

NORMANĀ - The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams will travel 20 athletes to the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday night.

The meet is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT, kicking off with the men's weight throw.

"Looking forward to a great weekend," said head coach Tim Langford. "This weekend in Arkansas, we're looking to do a few minor tweaks. We're trying to get people a little higher on the national list and looking to position everyone for the conference championship next week."

TEXAS TECH SHOOTOUT REWIND

JuniorĀ Geraldine UdoĀ finished second in "Section B" of the women's weight throw, claiming a personal best of 60-1.75 (18.33m).

On the men's side,Ā Bayley CampbellĀ placed second, throwing a personal best of 64-11.50 (19.80m) to move into third in the conference.Ā Edward JeansĀ took fourth with a PR throw of 63-11 (19.48m).

In the women's long jump, newcomerĀ Pippi Lotta Enok tied for first place in Section B, marking a 18-11.75 (5.78m).

On the track, freshmanĀ Jaylen BarringerĀ took first in Section B of the men's 400-meter dash, clocking a 48.19, while freshmanĀ Gage HenseyĀ placed fifth with a personal best time of 49.13. Overall,Ā Richard KuykendollĀ clocked a 47.15, finishing fifth.

Camri AustinĀ andĀ Madison Langley-WalkerĀ represented the Sooners in the women's 60-meter hurdle finals. Austin took fourth place with a time at 8.37, while Langley-Walker grabbed six, clocking a personal best in the semi-finals, 8.39, moving her to No. 6 in OU indoor history.

On the men's side, redshirt seniorĀ Jasher FosterĀ clocked a personal best time of 7.80 to finish second, making him No. 2 in the Big 12, tied for 19thĀ in the NCAA, and tied for seventh in school history.

Demarius SmithĀ andĀ Karson KowalchukĀ found themselves in the men's 60-meter dash finals. Smith came out victorious with a PR time of 6.64, putting him No. 3 in the conference, tied for 16thĀ in the NCAA, and tied for fourth in program history. Kowalchuk grabbed fourth with a time of 6.70.

In the women's 800-meter run, seniorĀ Jordyn KaplanĀ ran a personal best at 2:10.56, moving her to No. 9 in the history of the program.

The second day kicked off with sophomoreĀ Paige LowĀ taking first in Section B of the women's shot put, marking a personal best at 50-8 (15.44m) to put her eighth in the Big 12. Overall, juniorĀ Payden MontanaĀ placed first, throwing a PR of 57-5.75 (17.52m).

In women's pole vault, freshmanĀ Olivia LuekingĀ once again broke the school record, clearing a PR height at 14-5.25 (4.40m), putting her tied for seventh in the NCAA and remaining in first in the conference.

Mikeisha WelcomeĀ showed up in women's triple jump, finishing third with a mark at 43-7.25 (13.29m).

Over in high jump, freshmanĀ Kason O'RileyĀ placed fourth, clearing a personal best height at 7-2.25 (2.19m), moving him into multiple rankings. He is now tied for third in OU history, tied for third in the Big 12 and tied for eighth in the NCAA.

On the women's side,Ā Madison Langley-Walker, who cleared a PR, andĀ Ja'Sha SloanĀ tied for fourth, with a height at 5-9.75 (1.77m).

Closing out field events and the meet, redshirt seniorĀ Cooper CampbellĀ threw himself into first with a mark at 61-11 (18.87m), while juniorĀ Bryant ParlinĀ placed fourth with a mark of 56-9.5 (17.31m).
Ā 
SeniorĀ Jordyn KaplanĀ ran a PR as she took first in the women's 1000-meter run, clocking a 2:53.42to ease into 12thĀ in the conference.
Ā 
Finally,Ā Madeline MedinaĀ finished on top in the women's mile, running a 5:01.87, shaving 22 seconds off her previous best.
