OU T&F Set For Texas Tech Shootout

NORMANĀ - The Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams will head to Lubbock, Texas for the second time this season for the Texas Tech Shootout, Feb. 11-12.

"This is our second time going to Texas Tech," said head coach Tim Langford. "This meet really sets us up to see what's going to happen and what kind of team we're going to look like for the conference championship."

The meet is scheduled to begin with women's weight throw at 3 p.m. CT on Friday. Day two will kickoff at 10 a.m. withĀ women's shot put. The Sooners are expected to have 56 athletes competing.

HUSKER INVITATIONAL REWIND

On day one, freshmanĀ Olivia LuekingĀ broke the school record in women's pole vault, previously held by Lueking herself, clearing a personal best at 14-4 (4.37m).

Redshirt seniorĀ Lauren JonesĀ took second in the women's weight throw, marking 65-8.25 (20.02m).

JuniorĀ Mikeisha WelcomeĀ placed second by leaping a 19-6 (5.94m) in women's long jump.
Ā 
Closing out the day for field events, redshirt seniorĀ Rayvon AllenĀ leaped to first place with a mark of 24-7 (7.49m) in men's long jump.

Redshirt seniorĀ Jai'Lyn MerriweatherĀ took second in the women's 400-meter dash, with a time of 55.34. On the men's side, juniorĀ Richard KuykendollĀ ran a season-best 47.72 to take first place, while redshirt seniorsĀ Marlowe MosleyĀ (47.92) andĀ Isaiah LevingstonĀ (PR 47.96) took second and third, respectively.

Closing out day one, juniorĀ Madeline MedinaĀ ran a personal best at 17:31.29, shaving a minute off her previous record, in the women's 5000-meter run to take first place.

Starting off day two, redshirt seniorĀ Demarius SmithĀ took the top spot in the men's 200-meter dash, clocking a 21.22, while juniorĀ Alajuwan RobinsonĀ (21.59) and redshirt seniorĀ Marlowe MosleyĀ (21.60) took fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the women's 60-meter hurdles, redshirt seniorĀ Camri AustinĀ saw major success, clocking a first-place finish and season-best of 8.28, putting her fifth in the conference and 28thĀ in the NCAA. For the men, redshirt seniorĀ Jasher FosterĀ grabbed second with a time of 7.86.

Four Sooners saw the 60-meter dash finals, but freshmanĀ Mikayla HayesĀ made another big splash in her career, clocking a personal best, 7.56, for the second time at the Husker Invite to take second. On the men's side, redshirt seniorĀ Karson KowalchukĀ was the only Sooner in the finals, taking fifth with a time of 6.78.

In the women's 3000-meter run,Ā Jordyn KaplanĀ took third with a 9:54.95, while juniorĀ Madeline MedinaĀ grabbed fourth with a personal best at 9:55.98.

Closing out the meet on the track, the men's 4x400-relay team made up ofĀ Marlowe Mosley,Ā Demarius Smith,Ā Isaiah LevingstonĀ andĀ Richard KuykendollĀ grabbed first place with a time of 3:09.41.

On the field, freshmanĀ Kason O'RileyĀ placed second, clearing a 6-10.75 (2.10) in the men's high jump.

In women's shot put, juniorĀ Payden MontanaĀ threw a personal best of 57-0.25 (17.38m) to take second, while redshirt seniorĀ Lauren JonesĀ (51-5.75 (15.69m)) and sophomoreĀ Paige LowĀ (PR 49-11 (15.21m)) finished sixth and ninth, respectively.

In triple jump, juniorĀ Mikeisha WelcomeĀ took the top spot for the women, leaping a 42-1.15 (12.83m), whileĀ Allanah LeeĀ (40-2.25),Ā Daneesha DavidsonĀ (40-1.50), andĀ Nicole EzeokeĀ (39-8.50) took third, fourth and fifth, respectively. For the men, redshirt seniorĀ Garry WilliamsĀ marked a 50-8 (15.44m) in men's triple jump to take third.
