NORMAN – Oklahoma's men's and women's track and field teams hosted the J.D. Martin Invitational, coming out victorious with several milestones among the athletes.
The Sooners notched 23 victories, numerous personal bests and several improved individual national rankings.
"We are definitely headed in the right direction," said head coach Tim Langford. "I'm not sure when was the last time we had this many people ranked this highly on the national list this early in the season. Our goals have not changed."

The Sooners' first win of the meet came from redshirt senior
Lauren Jones in the women's weight throw. The Ohio native threw a 63-11 (19.48m), while junior
Geraldine Udo threw a 58-8.75 (17.90m) to secure second place.
On the men's side of the event, redshirt senior
Edward Jeans finished first with a mark of 63-5.5 (19.34m), while senior
Bayley Campbell threw a 62-9.25 (19.13m) to place second.
Senior
Madison Langley-Walker continued the trend in women's high jump and secured the Sooners another victory by clearing 5-8 (1.73m). Adding onto the win, redshirt senior
Ja'Sha Sloan also cleared 5-8 (1.73m) and placed second based on attempts, while freshman
Ariel Pedigo finished third, with a height of 5-6 (1.68m).
For the men, freshman
Kason O'Riley set a collegiate bests in men's high jump, clearing 6-11 (2.11m) to finish second, while senior
Chris Banks and junior
Keith Drapeau tied for fourth, with a height of 6-8.75 (2.05m).
Freshman
Jania Hodges leaped 18-5.75 (5.63m) in women's long jump to place second. In men's long jump, redshirt senior
Vernon Turner made his season debut, marking 24-3 (7.39m) to make him No. 6 in the Big 12. Following up, freshman
Khyland Wallace leaped 23-0.75 (7.03m) to finish second and freshman
Cam Peters marked 21-2.5 (7.03m) to place fifth.
In pole vault, freshman and current school record-holder
Olivia Lueking cleared a 14-1.75 (4.31m) to clinch first place. Redshirt senior
Colleen Clancy tied for second with a height of 13-7.75 (4.16m), while
Abby Bilsbury placed fourth, clearing 12-6 (3.81m).
Senior
Kristo Simulask placed second in men's pole vault, clearing a 15-7 (4.75m), while freshman
Reese Pokluda made his collegiate debut by finishing fifth, marking a 14-7.25 (4.45m).
The Sooners showed off in men's and women's shot put. Junior
Payden Montana moved to No. 3 in the nation with a throw of 56-8.75 (17.29m) to set a PR and clinch first.
Lauren Jones followed behind in second, throwing 50-10.25 (15.50m), while senior
Faith Ette placed third, with a mark of 50-2 (15.29m).
For the men, redshirt senior
Cooper Campbell threw for 61-7 (18.77m) to finish first. Junior
Bryant Parlin marked a 57-8.25 (17.58m) for second, while junior
Diego Trevino threw a 56-6.75 (17.24m) to secure third.
Senior
Daneesha Davidson leaped a 40-5.5 (12.33m) to take first place, while senior
Allanah Lee finished second, marking 40-2 (12.24m). Senior
Nicole Ezeoke closed out the sweep for the Soonerd with a third-place finish, marking a 39-10.5 (12.15m).
Closing out field events, redshirt senior
Garry Williams moved to the No. 2 spot in the conference and No. 9 nationally, marking 52-2 (15.90m) to take first. Securing second, redshirt senior
Jelaani Davis leaped 49-2.25 (14.99m), while sophomore
Kunle Akinlosotu placed third, marking 47-7.75 (14.52m).
On the track, the mile run received a first-place finish from the men's and women's squad. Senior
Jordyn Kaplan clocked a 5:01.51, while redshirt junior
Jordan Gledhill finished with a time of 4:18.79.
In the women's 60-meter hurdles,
Madison Langley-Walker secured first place with a personal best time of 8.45 to move to No. 11 in the Big 12. Redshirt senior
Camri Austin finished second, with a time of 8.47, while freshman
Pippi Lotta Enok finished third with a PR time of 8.80.
For the men, redshirt senior
Jasher Foster placed on-top, clocking an 8.01.

Ja'Leesa Giles took first in the women's 60-meter dash with a 7.58, while freshman
Mikayla Hayes, 7.69 placed third. For the men,
Khyland Wallace placed fourth with a time of 6.81.
In the women's 400-meter dash, freshman
Jada Atkinson took the top-spot, clocking a 58.22. Freshman
Gage Hensey showed up for the men with a time of 51.32 to take second.
Once again, the Sooners were at the top in both the men's and women's 800-meter run.
Jordyn Kaplan collected her second win of the day, finishing with a 2:15.67, while
Jordan Gledhill received his second win, with a time of 1:55.29.
In the women's 600-yard run, redshirt senior
Jai'Lyn Merriweather clocked a 1:25.21 to take first.
For the women's 200-meter,
Jania Hodges ran a 25.14 for first place, while
Mikayla Hayes took third with a time of 25.71.
On the men's side, senior
Quoi Ellis took first with a time of 21.98.
In the 3,000-meter run, the Sooners saw three top-five finishes for the women. Junior
Madeline Medina blew the competition with a first-place finish of 10:12.88 to clock a personal best. Following behind, junior
Elise Welch finished second with a time of 10:43.79, while freshman
Grace Williamson ran a 10:55.57 to take fourth place.
The men also had multiple successes in the 3,000-meter run. Freshman
Antonio Florcruz finished first with a time of 8:45.33, while junior
Lucas Badcock ran an 8:47.93 to place second. Right behind, sophomore
Fernando Morales took third with a 8:51.80, while sophomore
Austin Weese closed out the Sooner sweep with a fourth-place finish of 9:00.19.
Closing out the track, the men's 4x400-meter relay team, made up of
Gage Hensey, redshirt senior
Isaiah Levingston, junior
Richard Kuykendoll, and redshirt sophomore
Joey Zayszly, found success with a first-place finish of 3:22.77.
