Milwaukee Tennis Classic

September 20, 2021 | Men's Tennis
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Oklahoma men's tennis player Jordan Hasson concluded the Milwaukee Tennis Classic winning the consolation final over the weekend.
"Both guys in Milwuakee had some breakthrough wins and played very solid tennis," head coach Nick Crowell said. "I was glad to see Jordan finish off the tournament winning the consolation and Mark pick up two high-ranked wins en route to the quarterfinals."
Hasson went on a four-match winning streak to claim the backdraw title, beating Graydon Lair (MICH ST) 6-3, 6-1; DePaul's Marino Jakic 6-2, 6-4; Gavin Segraves (Navy) 6-4, 6-4; and Arizona's Nick Lagaev 6-4, 6-3 in the final round. In his second tournament as a Sooner, freshman Hasson tallied his sixth singles win.
Hasson was joined by teammate Mark Mandlik at the tournament, hosted annually since 1975. Mandlik advanced to the quarterfinals, tallying an impressive win over No. 2-seeded Vito Tonejc of DePaul 6-1, 6-4, and USC's Peter Makk 6-2, 7-6.
The Sooners now turn their focus to the Lubbock Futures, Sept. 26, in Lubbock, Texas.
