NORMAN – Oklahoma women's golf head coach
Veronique Drouin-Luttrell announced the 2021-22 schedule Friday.
"We're so excited to play a really competitive schedule this season," said Drouin-Luttrell. "We're grateful to our administration and University for their support as we get back to a normal schedule in 2021-22. We feel that we're going to challenge our student-athletes to get better and prepare them for a run next spring."
The Sooners start their 2021-22 slate of nine regular season tournaments Sept. 13-14 at the Sam Golden Invitational in Dallas at the Wildhorse Golf Club.
Following the trip to Dallas, Oklahoma will host the Schooner Fall Classic Sept. 26-27 at Belmar Golf Club. In the 2020 event, the Sooners finished tied for second, while
Hannah Screen tied for sixth after firing a 1-under 212.
"We love hosting the Schooner Fall Classic every season," Drouin-Luttrell said. "Last year's event was a little bit different, and we're eager to get our home tournament back to normal this season. Our team is excited to play against one of the best fields in college golf at Belmar later this month."
The Sooners then travel to Medinah, Ill., Oct. 11-12 for the Illini Invitational at the Medinah Country Club before returning to Texas for the Jim West Invitational at Kissing Tree Golf Club in San Marcos Oct. 17-18. Both tournaments were on the Sooners' 2019-20 schedule with Fortuna securing a top-20 finish at Medinah.
Oklahoma finishes its fall schedule at the Westbrook Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz., Oct. 25-26. In the 2019 Westbrook Invite, OU secured a second-place finish after shooting a school record 31-under 833 in the 54-hole event.
OU returns to action Feb. 27-28 with the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz., at the Longbow Golf Club.
Hannah Screen led a trio of top-20 finishers at the event last season, finishing 4-under through the par-72 tournament.

After a two-week break, the Sooners head to Lubbock, Texas, for the Big 12 Match Play Championship at the Rawls Course April 3-4. OU knocked off then-No. 7 Oklahoma State 3-2 in last season's tournament with Fortuna and Screen each winning their pairing.
In their final tune up before the Big 12 Stroke Play Championship, the Sooners stay in Texas for The Bruzzy at Lantana Golf Course April 11-12. Fortuna secured her 10th-career top-20 finish, shooting even-par through the 54-hole event despite windy conditions.
OU concludes its scheduled season at the Big 12 Stroke Play Championship April 22-24 at the Houston Oaks Golf Course in Houston. Screen led OU with a fourth-place finish in the 2021 championship, going 8-under with back-to-back rounds of 69 to conclude the tournament. Fortuna secured yet another top-20 finish, shooting a 3-under to finish tied for 12th.
The Sooners return four from the 2020-21 squad that played in 10 or more rounds and are led by Screen and Fortuna. Screen, who was named honorable mention All-American by Golfweek and was an All-Big 12 honoree, held an even-par average through 24 rounds last season, while Fortuna was +0.50 to par.
