Beiler Earns Big 12 Co-Player of the Week Honors

NORMAN – Mason Beiler has been named Big 12 Co-Player of the week after notching a straight sets victory over the highest-ranked opponent he's faced in his career. The conference announced the ward Tuesday.
Beiler earned two wins at the No. 2 spot over the weekend, beginning with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Ilgiz Valiev of Texas Tech. In the following match with No. 5 Baylor, put away No. 9 Matias Soto 7-5, 6-2, also at the No. 2 spot. Beiler handed Soto just his third loss of the year.
The award is the first Big 12 weekly award for Beiler and the second for the Sooners this season.
Beiler and OU host UT-Arlington today at 3 p.m. in the home finale. The Sooners close out 2021 on the road with stops at Texas (April 9), TCU (April 11) and Oklahoma State (April 18).
