OU Tallies 19 Wins to Close Sooner Invitational

NORMAN — Oklahoma's men's and women's track and field teams closed out the Sooner Invitational at the John Jacobs Track Complex in Norman, Okla., with 19 victories, 13 coming from Saturday's action. 

The Sooners' first win of day two came from senior Falyn Reaugh in the women's high jump. Reaugh cleared 1.77 meters, matching her personal best.

OU's women's 4x100-meter relay team of Deborah Giffard, Dai'Lyn Merriweather, Ja'Leesa Giles and Kennedy Blackmon took first, clocking 45.55 in the race. The men secured the event sweep, running a 40.02. The men's squad consisted of Jackson Webb, Joseph Sheffield, Quoi Ellis and Demarius Smith

Junior Chris Banks tallied the Sooners' fourth win, clearing a height of 2.02 meters in the men's high jump. Freshman Keith Drapeau joined Banks in the event, finishing two spots behind him with a height of 1.97 meters in his outdoor debut. 

In the running events, redshirt junior Isaiah Levingston notched a win and personal record in the men's 400-meter dash. Levingston clocked a 46.21 in the race. Seniors Devaniel Dale and Smith finished fourth and fifth, running times of 47.71 and 48.57, respectively. 

Senior Camri Austin ran a 13.63 in the women's 100-meter hurdles to secure the win. Austin was the lone Sooner in the race. 

The men's 100-meter dash went to the Sooners following a victory from redshirt senior Jackson Webb. Webb ran a 10.36 and was joined by Ellis and Sheffield in the event. Ellis finished third with a 10.72, while Sheffield went fourth with a 10.76.

Senior Lauren Jones capped off her perfect weekend, going two-for-two in her events. Her second win on the meet came in the women's discus throw, where she recorded a mark of 53.40 meters. Sophomore Payden Montana finished third, throwing 50.59 meters. 

The men's decathlons came to an end with junior Kristo Simulask securing the win. Simulask tallied a personal best 7,116 points to put him seventh on OU's all-time top-10 list. The junior was joined by fellow junior Will Kubicek who took seventh with a personal best 5,987 points. The two athletes notched personal records in the discus portion of the multis, with Simulask throwing 40.33 meters and Kubicek 35.18 meters. 

Senior Jasher Foster took first in the men's 400-meter hurdles, clocking 53.04 to secure the win. 

In the women's 200-meter dash, senior Ja'Leesa Giles earned the win with a time of 24.00. Giles's victory was the Sooners' 11th on the day. Austin finished fourth, running a 24.64. 

OU swept the triple jump, with sophomore Mikeisha Welcome winning first on the women's side. Welcome jumped 13.34 meters, while junior Allanah Lee marked 12.78 meters to take third. On the men's side, senior Rayvon Allen jumped a personal best 16.12 meters. 

Junior Madison Langley-Walker continued her impressive performance in the women's heptathlon, finishing third overall with a personal best 5,305 points. Langley-Walker's score is good to improve her spot from 10th to fifth on OU's all-time top-10 list. The junior started the day with the long jump, finishing in second. She went on to throw a personal best 27.43 meters in the javelin and run a personal record 2:31.18 in the women's 800 meters to close out the event. 

On the track, junior Jordyn Kaplan led the way for the Sooners finishing fourth in the women's 1,500 meters, crossing the line at 4:43.50. Sophomore Madison Acosta ran a 5:15.77 in her outdoor debut, taking the ninth spot in the race. 

Senior Derek King and sophomore Graham Santilli went back-to-back on the men's side of the event, taking fourth and fifth, respectively. King ran a 4:02.02, while Santilli clocked a 4:02.84. Sophomore Lucas Badcock and freshman Fernando Morales finished top 10 in their outdoor debuts, running a 4:05.89 and 4:09.65, respectively. Badcock took eighth while Morales finished 10th

Senior Jai'Lyn Merriweather and Blackmon finished second and third in the women's 400-meter dash, running respective times of 55.38 and 55.41. Sophomore Kamryn McCall took the 10th spot, clocking 59.53 in her outdoor debut.

Foster began his day with the men's 110-meter hurdles where he finished 15 flat, taking fifth place.

Giffard finished top five in the women's 100-meter dash final, clocking a 12.14.

Junior Alison Hepp ran a personal best 2:20.19 in the women's 800-meter run, securing a fifth-place finish.  On the men's side of the race, sophomore Jordan Gledhill took third with a time of 1:54.64. 

Senior Erin Huls ran a personal best 1:00.13 in the women's 400-meter hurdles, taking second. 

Dale returned to the track, taking second in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.25. 

Redshirt senior Lucas Kelley cleared 4.80 meters in the men's pole vault to finish second. 

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Dai'Lyn Merriweather, Blackmon, Giles and Jai'Lyn Merriweather took second, running a 3:47.94.

Men's discus ended with two personal records and three top-7 finishes for the throws squad. Sophomore Bryant Parlin threw a personal best 51.33 meters to finish third. Senior Bradley Daboub took fourth with a mark of 51.25 meters. Sophomore Diego Trevino's throw of 47.21 meters was good for seventh place. 

Sophomore Crislyn Cole made her javelin debut, throwing a mark of 35.09 meters.
