Oklahoma Returns to Clover Cup
March 11, 2021 | Women's Golf
MELBOURNE, Fla. — The 23rd-ranked Oklahoma women's golf team returns to the desert this weekend for the Clover Cup, held annually at the par-72, 6,184-yard Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is an event that head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell's team has won twice.
"We're excited to tee off this weekend at Longbow, a place that we've had a lot of success at," Drouin-Luttrell said. "Our team is ready to go and bounce back after our performance a few weeks ago, and Friday's opening round will be the key to our success."
No. 23 Oklahoma will look to bounce back from a 13th-place finish at the Moon Golf Invitational this weekend in Mesa. OU last played at the Clover in 2019 and finished in fourth, but were led by co-medalist Libby Winans. The Sooners won the event in 2013 and 2018, and Julienne Soo won back-to-back medalist honors in 2017 and 2018, as well as Hannah Wood claiming medalist honors in 2015. As a team, Oklahoma has played in the Clover Cup seven times, finishing inside the top four each time.
