OU Set for Sunday Clash with Kansas

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team is back in action Sunday as the Sooners host Kansas in a non-conference clash. First serve is set for 12 p.m. CT.

Sunday's match will be OU's (3-2) first since Feb. 5 at Arizona State, when the Sooners narrowly fell to the No. 24 Sun Devils 4-3. OU is 3-1 at home this season with the lone loss coming in a 4-3 decision to then-No. 3 Texas on Jan. 30.

Kansas comes to Norman 3-2 overall. The Jayhawks are represented in the ITA singles release by Sonia Smagina, who is No. 81. In doubles Carmen Roxana Manu and Malika Ngounoue are ranked No. 49 nationally.

The teams last met on March 17, 2019 in Norman, where Kansas prevailed 4-3.

OU Athletics has announced that fans will not be admitted for 2021 matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center due to limited seating capacity related to COVID-19 precautions. Home and visitor student-athletes will receive a limited number of complimentary tickets on a pass-list basis.
