Joe Castiglione announced the 2022 OU women's tennis spring schedule Tuesday.
OU's challenging schedule includes 10 matchups with teams that made the 2021 NCAA tournament. The Sooners will play 14 opponents at home.
"We have a talented group of women that are ready for this challenging spring schedule," said Cohen. "We will host multiple top 25 teams in the country, and we hope you all come out to support your women's tennis program."
The Sooners will open the season with four consecutive home matches. Wyoming (Jan. 17), Princeton (Jan. 18), South Carolina (Jan. 21) and Tarleton State (Jan. 22) will all travel to Norman for opening week.
The team will then travel to Durham, N.C., for the ITA Kickoff Weekend and face Furman on Jan. 29, while host Duke and Nebraska square off on the other side of the bracket. The winners of each match with face off on Jan. 30 in hopes for a punched ticket to the ITA National Women's Team Indoor Championships (Feb. 11-14) in Madison, Wis.
OU returns home for competitions against New Mexico State (Feb.5), Arizona State (Feb. 12) and USC (Feb. 20). The Sooners will travel to Orlando, Fla., to face UCF on Feb. 25.
The team will stay in the state of Oklahoma for the month of march, hosting six matches at Headington Family Tennis Center. Illinois will come to town on March 6 before Big 12 play begins against Kansas (March 11) and Kansas State (March 13). A mid-week non-conference match with Tulsa (March 17) will set the stage for another set of conference matches against Baylor (March 25) and Texas (March 27).
The Sooners will wrap up conference play on the road with TCU (April 1), Texas Tech (April 3), Iowa State (April 8), West Virginia (April 10) and Oklahoma State (April 15).
OU will return home to wrap up the regular season with a non-conference match against Pepperdine on April 17.
The 2022 Big 12 Women's Tennis Championships will be held at TCU, April 21-24.
NCAA Regionals are set for May 6-8, with the winners advancing to Super Regionals May 13-14. Locations will be determined at a later date. The NCAA Championship is set for May 19-22 in Champaign, Ill., with the individual tournament set for May 23-28.
The Sooners are coming off a historic 2021 season by entering the ITA top 25 and rising to No. 21 for the first time since 2014. The women also downed seven ranked opponents, including UCF who went on to win the American Athletic Conference. Carmen and
Ivana Corley peaked at No. 11 nationally to capture the program's highest doubles ranking in history.
