Men's Tennis Set for ITA All-Americans

NORMAN — Oklahoma's men's tennis team travels to Tulsa, Okla., for the ITA Men's All-American Championships, hosted by the University of Tulsa.

"Our guys are extremely excited to be competing at the All-American Championships this weekend," head coach Nick Crowell said. "It's a great opportunity for everyone to play against some of the nation's best competition and make a run at one of our elite tournaments throughout the year."

OU will send nine players to the tournament: Baptiste Anselmo, Jordan Hasson, Welsh Hotard, Mark Mandlik, Justin Schlageter and Matt Rodriguez are set for the tournament's pre-qualifying draw, beginning Saturday. Alex Martinez and Nathan Han will be playing in the singles qualifying draw, in addition to earning a spot in the doubles main draw as the ITA No. 13 pair. Anselmo and Mandlik will represent the Sooners in the qualifying round as a doubles team. ITA No. 46 Mason Beiler has qualified for the singles main draw. 

Beiler, Mandlik and Rodriguez will mark their second appearances at the All-American Championships, while the remainders will be making their debut.

Pre-qualifying runs from Oct. 2- 3 while the qualifying draw will be played Oct. 4-5. Main draw action is set for Oct. 6-9. All matches will be played at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa.

The single quarterfinalists, consolation finalists and the doubles semifinalists and consolation finalists will earn automatic entry into the ITA National Fall Championships slated for Nov. 3 in San Diego, Calif. 

Draws will be released at a later time.
