Women's Tennis Announces Spring Slate

NORMAN – University of Oklahoma Head Women's Tennis CoachĀ Audra CohenĀ and Vice President and Director of AthleticsĀ Joe CastiglioneĀ announced the 2021 schedule Tuesday.

The Sooners' competitive schedule features seven opponents who ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) top 50 last season as well as 15 matches at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

"We are very excited to have a strong schedule with a lot of home matches against some of the best teams in the country," said Cohen, who enters her fifth season at the helm for the Sooners.

The Sooners will open the 2021 season with five straight matches at home. OU will welcome Oral Roberts on Jan. 16, followed by Wyoming on Jan. 20, Tulsa on Jan. 22, and a pair of non-conference meetings with Texas Tech on Jan. 24 and Texas on Jan. 28.

The Sooners head west for a doubleheader with Arizona State and Grand Canyon in Phoenix, Ariz., on Feb. 6.

Oklahoma returns to Norman for a trio of matches. The Sooners will host another non-conference match with Kansas (Feb. 21), followed by SMU (Feb. 27) and Oregon (Feb. 28).

OU will have a rematch with Tulsa on March 5 in Tulsa. The Sooners then come home for Wichita State on March 13 before opening Big 12 play on the road at Baylor (March 19) and Texas (March 21).

Oklahoma hosts six matches at home across March and April: TCU on March 26; Texas Tech on March 28; Oklahoma State on April
3; UCF on April 4; Iowa State on April 9; and West Virginia on April 11.

The Sooners close out conference play in the Sunflower State as they head to Kansas (April 16) and Kansas State (April 18).

The Big 12 Championships are set for April 22-25 in Waco, Texas.

OU returns six players from 2019-20 in seniors Martina Capurro and Camila Romero; juniors Ivana Corley and Kianah Motosono; and sophomores Carmen Corley and Macey Miller. The Sooners will add freshman Dana Guzman (Arequipa, Peru) for the spring slate.

Match times for the 2021 season will be announced at a later date.
