ITA Academic Honors Pour in for Sooners

NORMAN – Eight Sooners have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes and OU has been named in ITA Academic Team for the 10th year, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Monday.
Martina Capurro, Carmen Corley, Ivana Corley, Nina Jabrzemski, Macey Miler, Skyler Miller, Kianah Motosono and Camila Romero all earned Scholar-Athlete status for maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the 2019-20 academic year.
Carmen Corley, Skyler Miller and Motosono all boasted 4.0 GPAs. This is the third ITA academic honor for both Jabrzemski and Skyler Miller as well as the second for Motosono and Ivana Corley.
OU's eight selections were good for the most in program history. The Sooners have had at least five honorees every year since 2015.
With a 3.62 cumulative GPA, the Sooners were named an ITA Academic Team. OU has earned the team honor every year since 2011 and in 21 of the last 22 seasons.
2019-20 marked a record academic year for the Sooners, who also set a program record for most Academic All-Big 12 selections this season with seven in Capurro, Ivana Corley, Jabrzemski, Skyler Miller, Motosono and Romero.
