Just a week away from opening what was sure to be a rigorous Big 12 slate, the season came to a close for the Oklahoma men's tennis team as the focus was shifted to the health and safety of the community.
While it would be easy to dream of what might have been in the coming weeks, we take time instead to reflect on the incredible season that was and the thrilling moments that came in the 15 matches we'll never take for granted. Ā

The Sooners had two wins over top-25 opponents this season. Both of those came away from home with OU stunning No. 24 Kentucky 5-2 in Lexington (Feb. 2) before topping No. 15 Florida State 4-3 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando (Feb. 28).

OU recorded six sweeps this season, all at home.

Jochen Bertsch had three clutch clinches this season. OU's lone senior claimed the winning point in a 5-2 victory at No. 24 Kentucky,Ā a 4-3 decision against San Diego at home and a 4-3 thriller over No. 15 Florida State in Orlando.

The Sooners racked up five straight victories to go undefeated during the month of February. That run was capped by OU's 4-3 win over No. 15 Florida State at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 28.

Jochen Bertsch was in the midst of a seven-match winning streak as the season came to an end. The senior had not lost a match since Jan.Ā 26 at Mississippi State.
The freshman class combined for 27 singles victories. Mark Mandlik opened the year with six straight victories and Justin Schlageter closed the season on a six-match run.

Max Stewart clinched seven doubles points for the Sooners over the course of the season. Five of those came alongside freshman Alex Martinez, with that duo playing at every position in the lineup.

Max Stewart was OU's winningest player in doubles, going 9-3 with three different partners. Stewart was also 3-0 at the top spot.

It took freshman Justin Schlageter just seven matches to earn his first career ranking after joining the team in January. Schlageter entered the ITA singles rankings at No. 92 as the third- ranked freshman in the Big 12 and the 13th highest player in the league after just a month of collegiate competition.
