NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team is set to kick off the 2019 fall season this weekend as it splits up for two tournaments.

Oleksandra Korashvili,
Camila Romero and
Martina Capurro will head to Wisconsin for the Milwaukee Tennis Classic. The event features a 64-player singles draw and a 32-team doubles bracket. The Sooners saw great success at the 2018 Milwaukee Tennis Classic with Asghar and Corley the doubles runners-up and Capurro and Romero teaming up for a quarterfinals appearance. Additionally, Capurro made a run to the singles quarterfinals.
Two Sooners are seeded at the tournamnet: Korashvili was awarded the No. 4 seed while Capurro is No. 11.

Kianah Motosono,
Ivana Corley and newcomer Marcelina Podlinska are set to play at the Wahoowa Invite hosted by the University of Virginia. The tournament field includes players from Illinois, Kansas, NC State, Princeton and host Virginia.
On Friday, players from each team will play two doubles matches and one singles match. Play will continue with both doubles and singles matches on Saturday. Sunday will consist only of singles play.
The Sooners earned three spots in the ITA Preseason National Rankings. In singles, Korashvili is No. 21 and is the No. 3 player in the Big 12 conference. Capurro is No. 82 in sinlges. In doubles, Corley and Asghar were tabbed No. 21 and are the highest-ranked team in the conference.
