Sooners to Battle on Both Coasts

NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's tennis team returns to action this weekend as it splits up to represent OU on the east and the west coasts.

Matt Rodriguez, Mark Mandlik, Max Stewart and Jochen Bertsch head to Destin, Fla., for the Battle on the Beach.

OU will compete alongside Florida State, LSU and Tulane. Each team will have 4 singles and 2 doubles lines for each match with regular college match scoring and the tournament will be played in a round robin format.

Doubles will be played first each morning to battle for the first point with singles to follow.

Mason Beiler will represent OU at the Battle in the Bay hosted by the University of San Francisco.

The highly-competitive tournament field includes players from Alabama, Cal, Georgia, Hawaii, Michigan, Pacific, Stanford, TCU, Texas Tech, UCSB, USC, Wake Forest and host San Francisco.
Beiler opens the 32-player singles draw Friday at 5 p.m. CT with USC's Ryder Jackson.
